We met up with the inspiring lady, journalist and podcast host Sisse Sejr to have a chat about summer times in Denmark, being a festival entusiast and the love for comfortable and glittery clothing.
Hei Sisse, what are your plans for this summer?
My plans for this summer is Folkemødet at Bornholm, Roskilde Festival, a trip to Sweden with friends for a week, two weeks of driving through Europe in an electric car (to figure out if that kind of vacationing is working for us), three weddings and also a couple of days at Smukfest in Skanderborg. In between that, it is about gardening and working on our house.
We know that festival season changed a bit for you the last years, since you became a mom. What are your festival plans this season?
The plans are as follows; a whole week with friends in campingvans at Roskilde festival and I am doing a live-talk and Broadcasting from Smukfest. I can not live without Roskilde. I bought the tickets in October, and then just listen to all the music, which i will forget to hear at the festival, while waiting, driving my self even more excited for the festival. It is by far my favorit season of the year!
When you are at a festival, what is work and what is pleasure & how do you get time to enjoy all the good people & music?
I used to work a lot - all the time actually - during the festival season, cause I worked at a paper and later for the danish radio channel P3, where festival was high priority stuff during the summers. But the last couple of years I've been there only as a guest, and I must say, I enjoyed it so much, that I will never work during Roskilde festival again. I used to think, that I would just drown in alcohol and it would only lead to trouble, if I didn't have work and responsibility in the daytime. Maybe I am just all grown up now, and don't care about drowning in alcohol and trouble for a while.
Which festivals are you visiting this season and which can you recommend with and without kids?
I remember being a 5-year old at festivals, and I didn't like it that much. Something about loud people and loud music, that made me feel uncomfortable. Also when I am at a festival, I really enjoy not being "the mom". I'm just Sisse - and I need that sometimes. But if you go with kids, I wouldn't say that any festival is better than the other, just have fun, avoid hanging out in the concert-pits and maybe leave before people get drunk, so they don't appear scary. I don't know when the kids a ready for it, only the parents and kids knows, so I trust they'll figure it out. Every family has its ways.
What is a good festival for you? Who to hang out with, what to eat & drink and how to sleep?
For me it's being with friends and without curfew, we don't have to get up early to be the grown ups, we can act stupid, listen to music, be all nostalgic and get drunk. I love that Roskilde festival really cares about food, you can get really good food, it doesn’t have to be burgers and 4 AM fries all the time.
We know you are a welldressed lady. What is a great festival outfit for you?
Well thank you! I am a fan of layers. So you don’t have to walk all the way back to camp to change, if you get hot or cold. Also I am a small lady - only 165 - so I have a glitter, coloured raincoats and more glitter, so my friends can find me fast. I get lost a lot, but if I am wearing silverpants, glitter top and a sparkling green jacket in a landscape of black and denim - they always find me.
What are you 3 favorite Hunkøn pieces for your festival season and how and when will you wear them?
How do you feel when you wear Hunkøn and why do you like our clothing?
I feel comfortable and nicely dressed. You don’t look like everyone else. You can use the items with everything else, just put on a pair of jeans, a T-shirt and one of the kimonos, and it will make the outfit. the designs are made with humor and femininity - and just feels like a friend in your closet. Also I like Anne behind Hunkøn, she is a very cool var, and I like her way of thinking, the powertheme through her collections and that there is a lot of thought in every little thing.

The summer season is over us and no matter if you are into festivals, if you are going to spend your time at the beach or you are staying in at your summer house, Hunkøn has some styles to get you into the right vacation mood.
Here at the office, summer time is the best time at the year, and we really look forward to swimming, having time with our dear ones and spending our days without no plans. We talked to our Head of PR Cille, our CEO Trine and our Creative director Anne about their plans for the summer.
Anne – creative director at Hunkøn:
What are you doing this season?
Im going to Croatia with my boyfriend and two kids and we are doing something as simple and oldschool as camping in a tent. It´s going to be so cool and im so looking forward to chilly days, doing nothing except being together and taking time as it comes.
We have a small ”kolonihave” – a small house with a green garden in the city where we are grillin, doing the garden and drinking cold rose wine together with good friends, while the kids are playing outside.
What are you looking forward to?
I look forward to swimming with my kids. Normally we have a busy time, but summer times are anything else than busy, its just cosy times chillin and taking everything as it comes.
And then i am a food lover, so ofcourse i look forward to all the great food they have in Croatia and all the fresh fish we are going to eat.
Which Hunkøn styles are you packing?
Trine – CEO at Hunkøn:
What are you doing this summer?
I am staying here in Denmark with my family and hoping for a sunny summer. I am planning being a turist in my own city and going to see all the things I normally haven´t got the time to see. We are going swimming at Refshaleøen, biking to Broens marked to eat the best burgers in town from Gasoline Grill and enjoying that we live in one of the best cities in the world.
I also have a small dream about visiting Vesterhavet, but lets see what comes up. Most importantly summer is all about taking time to do exactly what you feel like.
What are you looking forward to?
Going to the beach, eating ice cold watermelon, having a cold drink and just chilling.
Which Hunkøn styles are you going to wear for the summer?
Cille, Head of PR:
What are you doing this summer?
Summer is the best time of the year. I am a July child, so summer means birth day party, swimming in the ocean, hanging out with my daughter and husband and strolling around in Copenhagen in our new Christiania bike.
We are also packing our bags and driving to the Northern part of Jutland where my parents are having their summerhouse. Im so looking forward to chilly days with no plans, swimming in the ocean and having a nap during the day.
What are you listening to:
Normally i am going to a lot of festivals since I used to be a music booker, but since I became a mom i haven´t had the time. This doesn´t mean that music is not part of my everyday life, now it´s with me when I drive around in Copenhagen, make food or sit at the office. Right now i am really into Charlotte Day Wilson, the danish artists Jada and Soleima and then I love Solange.
What are you eating this summer:
I love food and on Sundays me and my family love driving around in Copenhagen trying new small shops, drinking great coffee and chilling. I like coffee places like Arrebo on Nørrebro, The Coffee Collectice and Rist on Værnedamsvej - some of the most expensive coffee in the world, but also some of the best. On day i will make a foodie guide for you guys :-)
In the Nothern part of Jutland there is a tradition for selling fresh strawberries and watermelon from small shops on the street, and for sure i am having strawberries with cream and sugar.
